If I Can Do It, So Can You! Now Skate!
Let’s face the facts; not everybody is talented as me. But I wasn’t born a skater and skating wasn’t the first thing that comes to my mind when I started to grow up. So, you don’t have to feel bad about it. If you’re not good at something, you are not the only one. If you’re good at skating from the beginning, then I’ll say it to your face that I respect you, because I know what you’re going through and it ain’t easy to reach that level that you are in, so I respect you. Everybody can learn—if she can learn, if I can learn, then so can you. What’s stopping you? Your parents? Your friends? Yourself? Everything is an obstacle, and they are easy to overcome. All you have to do is take the first step and ride your new skateboard.
Fear is normal. We all fear something one way or another. Like me, for example—I am afraid of high places, and when I realize that, I have to do a loopy loop, I froze. Because the thought of climbing that arena and going down, I started to shake like a leaf. My first in trying out that arena, it was a terrifying experience. But with the help of my friends and the support of my coach, we call her coach as a nickname for her, I overcome that fear and dive. When you let go, you feel like you are unstoppable. It is freeing.
If I can overcome the challenge, then I know you can do it too. Don’t stop when you’re halfway there, because if you do stop, I know you will regret not overcoming it. Regretting is such a horrible thing to experience because it means you missed your opportunity. Skating or rollerblading, whatever it is you prefer to learn, they are all the same. It can also apply to your everyday life. As long as you managed to finished one path, you realize you can go whenever you want and with the traits that you are to attain from your experience, I know you will have a use for them in the future.
So the moral of this is that not everyone is a master of skating. We all have to undergo training and practice to become the best. But if you are committed and passionate about it, then what’s stopping you? In the end, the real enemy is yourself. So, don’t procrastinate, stop making excuses, and go for it. You are not alone; we got you. And once, you did it then welcome to the team. You will find your own league and one day you will call them your family. They will never abandon, and you will never forsake them. So, skate, my friend, skate to your heart’s content.
